Our portfolio companies operate independently in their markets. They use their freedom of movement to actively develop their businesses in close alignment with customer needs. This keeps them successful on a small scale and our Group successful on a large scale.

ENGINEERING
The digital transformation is increasingly linking engineering with smart technologies and artificial intelligence. The dovetailing of production with the latest information and communication technology opens previously closed doors and gives specialists in the SME industry scope to develop new growth models.
The companies in the ENGINEERING segment already support the manufacturing industry with a broad range of products and services. This is an excellent basis for further expansion.
Today, the ENGINEERING segment pools companies from the fields of automation/robotics, sensor technology, measurement and control engineering, as well as specialized mechanical engineering and equipment manufacturing (especially energy, food and packaging technology).
In addition to automation, sensor and measurement technology, future growth drivers will also be energy technology and logistics.
Axel Meyer serves as the Management Board member responsible for the ENGINEERING segment.

INFRASTRUCTURE
Growing mobility and advancing urbanization are giving construction a sustained boost. Transport routes are being expanded. Construction and building technology are receiving new impetus from smart buildings and smart homes, as well as from the required contribution to sustainable construction. Modern technologies enable the development of intelligent infrastructures and supply networks – in logistics, in communication and in energy supply. The companies in the INFRASTRUCTURE segment are in a stable position to develop their range of products and services to meet these needs.
The INFRASTRUCTURE segment pools companies from the fields of construction and building technology, the telecommunications infrastructure, and air-conditioning technology.
Future topics in this segment are infrastructure networks, building infrastructure, but also technology for higher energy efficiency.
Dr. Jörn Großmann serves as the Management Board member responsible for the INFRASTRUCTURE segment.

MATERIALS
In the manufacturing sector, innovative materials and new composite materials are pushing the boundaries of what is possible. Together with state-of-the-art production processes, they enable solutions that advance into new dimensions of performance and application and are in harmony with the interests of people and the environment. The companies in the MATERIALS segment have a high level of expertise in this field and are expanding it to include new areas of application.
The MATERIALS segment pools companies from the areas of metal forming and processing, metal production (carbides and blasting agents), as well as medical consumables and aids.
Circular economy and waste management, as well as agriculture and food industries, are further future topics in this area.
Dr. Johannes Schmidt serves as the Management Board member responsible for the MATERIALS segment.

Non-Core
As part of its strategic focus, INDUS has sharpened its segment structure and defined clear technology priorities for its portfolio. The temporary Non-Core segment pools companies that lie outside these focal points. This applies in particular to series suppliers in the Automotive Technology segment. These companies are set to develop further in a new context in the future.
