Privacy policy

We take the protection of your personal data seriously. We treat them confidentially and in accordance with the legal data protection regulations.

1. Data processing when using this website

We process your personal data as follows:

Piwik/Matomo

This website uses the Piwik/Matomo web analytics service, which collects and stores data for marketing and optimization purposes. These data may be used to create user profiles under an alias.
The information collected relates to your use of the website and includes browser type and version, operating system used, referrer URL (previously visited page), date/time of the request and IP address. The IP address is anonymized immediately after processing and before it is stored.
These data are collected and processed by a technical service provider, who is obliged to maintain confidentiality.
Data processing is carried out on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 (1) letter a GDPR).
The information generated about the use of this website will not be passed on to third parties.

Cookies with a duration of up to 13 months may be used. You may refuse the storage of cookies by selecting the corresponding settings on your browser; please note, however, that if you do this, you may not be able to benefit from the full functionality of this website.
If you do not agree with the storage and use of your data, you may deactivate the storage and use here. In this case, an opt-out cookie will be stored in your browser, which prevents Matomo from saving user data. If you delete the cookies, the Matomo opt-out cookie will be deleted as well. The opt-out would then have to be reactivated when you visit our site again.

Server log files

When you access our website, information will automatically be collected. This is required for technical reasons and includes the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your Internet service provider, your IP address and similar information.
We will not use these data to carry out personal evaluations, but may use them to optimize our Internet presence and the technology behind it using statistical data. These data will not be merged with other data sources.

Data processing is based on Art. 6 (1) letter f GDPR, which permits the processing of data on the basis of a legitimate interest. In this case, we have a legitimate interest in the secure and trouble-free operation of the web server. To ensure this, administration must be able to identify and trace attacks and malfunctions of the system via server log files. To be able to recognize attack patterns, accesses to the server need to be stored. As soon as these data are no longer needed, they will be deleted. For technical reasons, the data are available to the hosting service provider, who is, however, bound to us by instructions and contract.

Cookies

The web pages use cookies. These are small text files that can be stored and evaluated on your computer. They contain unique identifiers and are technically necessary to make the web pages available to you.
For more detailed information on the cookies used, please refer to the corresponding sections of this statement.

In addition, the following cookie is used:
Consent to tracking cookies: Your consent or non-consent to the use of tracking will be stored in a cookie for one month.
This cookie is technically necessary and is stored on the basis of Art. 6 (1) letter f GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in the storage of the cookie for the technically error-free and optimized provision of our services.

You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and allow cookies only in individual cases, refuse the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are disabled, the functionality of this website may be limited.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to our Newsletter, we will use your e-mail address to send you regular information about us and our services by e-mail. You may voluntarily provide us with further information when subscribing. We will use your data only after you have confirmed your subscription (double opt-in). We use service providers to dispatch the Newsletter.
The legal basis for this data processing is your consent (Art. 6 (1) letter a GDPR), which you may revoke at any time with effect for the future. You may unsubscribe directly on our website or via the “Unsubscribe” function, which can be found in the footer of a Newsletter received by you. We will then remove your details from the Newsletter mailing list.

When you open the Newsletter or click on a link it contains, this will be anonymously recorded by our web server (date, time, opening/clicked link). This serves internal statistical purposes and to improve customer service (Art. 6 (1) letter f GDPR).

Contact form

If you use contact forms to send us inquiries, the information provided by you in the form will be stored and processed by us to handle the inquiry and to answer any follow-up questions.
Mandatory fields are marked accordingly. You need to fill in mandatory fields to enable us to answer and process your inquiries. All other information is voluntary.
The data entered in the contact form will be processed exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 (1) letter a GDPR). You may revoke this consent at any time. Such a revocation only has effect for the future.
We will not pass on your data to third parties without your consent or without another permissible legal basis. While it cannot be ruled out that our technical service providers may gain insight, they are obliged to maintain confidentiality.
The data you enter in the contact form will remain with us until you request us to erase them, revoke your consent to store them or the purpose for which they were stored ceases to apply (usually 6 months after your inquiry has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods – shall remain unaffected, e.g. if a contractual relationship is established.

Vimeo will also initiate the Google Analytics tracker via an iFrame in which the video is accessed. This is Vimeo’s own tracking, to which we have no access. You may prevent tracking by Google Analytics by using the deactivation tools offered by Google for some web browsers. The collection of data generated by Google Analytics which relate to your use of the website (including your IP address) and the processing of these data by Google may also be prevented by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en
