Come on, Aileen!

Developing innovations has to be learned – and where better to acquire the know-how than at one of the most renowned technical universities, RWTH Aachen University?

For a few months now, we have been supporting Team Ecurie Aix, the Formula Student Team of RWTH Aachen University. Founded in 1999, a curious, committed group of students with a passion for motor sports works every year anew on the development and construction of racing vehicles. The goal is to compete with other student racing teams on a European level – and, of course, to win prizes in the designated disciplines. But also the fruitful exchange and networking among each other, learning from mistakes – to fail, to replan and to continue – are the drivers that make such a large project successful. The team cohesion is tremendous, and so it grows beyond itself year after year.

With each season, there are specific requirements that need to be mastered: in 2022, every part, every process and every component was scrutinized, redesigned and implemented. This is because the eax01, affectionately known as Aileen, not only drives purely electrically, but also competes both manned and autonomously. This has implications for almost all of the vehicle’s components. We think the Ecurie Aix team has mastered this challenge well!

At Ecurie Aix, not only innovative racing cars are developed, but also young engineers who solve problems with knowledge, creativity and a good dose of persistence. These are important qualities that will also benefit the students in their professional careers. In this way, the Formula Student Team produces the problem solvers, innovation drivers and networkers of the future that the German SME sector needs.

We at INDUS are pleased when such diversely qualified graduates find their way to us in the INDUS Group!
