Introduced: Control room specialist Jungmann Systemtechnik
With the closing on January 4th, 2021, the time has come, Jungmann Systemtechnik GmbH & Co. KG (JST) is now a member of our INDUS Group. We are all the more pleased about this addition given the difficult framework conditions caused by corona. Indeed, the transaction process went smoothly even in pandemic times. Financial and commercial due diligence were carried out as usual by our holding company employees, and for the first time INDUS also carried out the legal due diligence internally for a purchase. We were supported by external experts in the tax due diligence. Due to the current corona situation, a large part of the meetings around the acquisition took place virtually. The opportunity to experience a product demonstration in the control room simulator at the company’s headquarters in Buxtehude was all the more gratifying. In the end, we were more than convinced by the innovative company – and we agreed with the sellers: around five months after the first contact, we signed the purchase agreements on November 17, 2020. The responsible antitrust authorities then checked the purchase remarkably quickly – we received approval after just one week. We are pleased that the M&A process has proceeded swiftly and that with Jungmann Systemtechnik we can strengthen ourselves specifically in the area of measurement, automation and control technology. We have defined this sector in our PARKOUR strategy programme as one of six future sectors in which we want to grow further.
Jungmann Systemtechnik complements the INDUS portfolio very well as a hidden champion in the niche: JST offers comprehensive solutions for setting up control room, control center and control station for a wide variety of sectors – industry, energy, health, IT, transport or security. Founded in 2001 by Kay Hansen and Carsten Jungmann, the company has been able to realise over 500 control room projects to date. JST attaches great importance to innovative solutions that meet the increasingly complex requirements of control rooms. Megatrends such as the Internet of Things, Machine Learning or Smart Factory are generating rapidly increasing amounts of data, which must be available on demand and at the right time. The JST team takes on these requirements while keeping an eye on the big picture. From proactive large-screen technology to high-availability control and monitoring technology to ergonomic furniture, the company offers everything from a single source. JST’s decentralised, agile structure enables comprehensive and fast support or service of the control room technology even after the installation has been completed. True to the motto “Keep The Systems Running”, JST specialists are available with their know-how throughout the DACH region and beyond.
With Jungmann Systemtechnik, we have gained a strong investment for the future, which we now want to accompany in its further development in the long term. Former owner Carsten Jungmann will remain on board as managing director. At the top of the agenda is the development of new international markets. We also want to specifically promote the further development of innovative control room concepts and instruments in accordance with our business model. It is important to us that the special “JST spirit” remains intact!
